Biography
Carolyn Laing McCabe
Carolyn is passionate about empowering others to overcome existing barriers to performing to their fullest potential in their personal, academic and professional lives. She believes that confidence is key to reaching goals and achieving success. Carolyn is an enthusiastic and engaging individual dedicated to helping others recognize their special talents and unique skills.
Carolyn has worked in both the public and private sectors specializing in the areas of recruitment, training and development. She has gained valuable coaching experience through her work with laid off employees trying to re-enter the workforce, as a job coach for developmentally disabled youth, as an advisor for domestic and international students experiencing academic difficulties and as a mentor to youth with behavioural disorders. Carolyn has developed and facilitated numerous workshops on social skills and career development tools. She is currently employed at Fanshawe College as a Student Success Advisor.
Carolyn obtained her Bachelor of Arts degree in Sociology from Dalhousie University and subsequently graduated from Fanshawe College with a Human Resources Management certificate. She is qualified to administer the Myers-Briggs Type Indicator, MBTI Step 2 assessments and is currently completing her certification for the Strong Interest Inventory.
Carolyn is a member of HRPLD (Human Resources Professionals London & District), OACDP (Ontario Alliance of Career Development Practitioners) and Emerging Leaders. She is an active member in the community, including her current role of Career Counsellor for Womanpower Inc.
